Despite their academic strength, respondents pointed out that current resources are sometimes too abstract or out-of-date to be used effectively in real-time adjudication. The necessity for useful, application-focused resources rather than just theoretical ones is a recurrent topic in the data.

Courts showed interest in:

  • Case studies with annotations about digital assets
  • Glossaries that define technical terms (such as smart contracts and blockchain validation)
  • Model jury instructions for cases involving technology
  • Instruments for assessing the validity of digital evidence
